Habitat for Humanity
Marie Callendar’s® partners with Habitat for Humanity to build homes for veterans and others in need. Marie Callendar’s® Comforts from Home points.
New and used books to send to American troops overseas, as well as veterans and military families here at home. Please note: No more hardback books for Operation Paperback unless they are children's books. The following genres are most frequently requested: action, bestsellers, biographies and memoirs, fantasy, history, horror, mysteries, science-fiction, true crime. We have a huge demand for children’s books by military families.
Bring items for a box of goodies to be sent to a deployed unit for Project Patriot. Items could include: non-melting food, personal products, magazines, etc.
Contract Working Dogs (CWD) are different than their Military Working Dogs (MWD) counterparts. They do not have a unit they call home, but when units rotate in and out of and are they meet their new unit and handler. Once they get older their future is less predictable and they are often euthanized. The military personnel who work with them want to adopt them. This organization rescues and reunites them and brings them back to the U .S. We will take donations for historic miniatures produced by Shelia’s. Take one home today and support the Contract Working Dogs! See your choices at the chapter meeting.
United States World War One Centennial Commission The DAR is a partner organization for the United States World War One Centennial Commission.
